To: dg@detla-chi.net X-Mailer: CommuniGate Pro WebUser v5.2.10 Date: Wed, 11 Feb 2009 03:10:15 -0500 Message-ID: <web-25764699@be2.bc.edu> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain;charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Brothers, As usual, I participate in 2 Relays For Life each year, one held at Boston College where I work and one in Arlington, MA, where my son lives. I do a fundraising program throughout the year called Cans Against Cancer, and it is self explanatory at my website, www.CansAgainstCancer.com. Started in 2006, I raised $1500, followed by $7500 in 2007, and my goal for 2008 WAS $10,000 and I ended the year at $16,465, which equates to 329,300 nickle deposit containers. It has become a full time committment, and while the majority of the money goes to the American Cancer Society, between Relays I divide the money up between 4 other cancer related organizations called Cops For Kids With Cancer (www.CopsForKidsWithCancer.org), Take A Swing at Cancer (www.TakeASwing.org), The Jimmy Fund (www.JimmyFund.org) and The V Foundation (www.JimmyV.org). Brothers from Delta Chi have been supportive in the past towards my son and I after he was diagnosed as the youngest case of a rare adult cancer at age 11. I''m proud to say that he is still in remission, and in his freshman year of high school has made the honor roll both semesters. If you look at my website, or the Relay For Life at Boston College web site (www.RelayForLife.org/bostoncollege) you will see a picture taken at last year's RFL at BC. I am asking for modest donations to my team page. My team is CSI: Boston College, because NOT fighting cancer is a crime! As a last minute challenge, I will take the total given by brothers and after the Relay, will match the funds in a separate donation to the V Foundation, the national philantrophy of Delta Chi. I realize this is short notice, but I am also not asking for a lot. $2 to $5 adds up quickly, and consider that your donation is tax deductible, and will also result in an equal amount going to the V Foundation in Delta Chi's name.
